Though the Principality can be proud of being the second country in the world for life expectancy for women is 85 years (1) (78 years for men). But increasing the duration of retirement is a key factor accounts of the Caisse Autonome des Pensions (CAR). Retirees are 20,000 today. They will more than double by 2030! 41 700 exactly according to projections by the RACs.
Thousand retirees and more each year!
"Every year there are thousands more retirees, or 4%," says Bernard Asso, a member of the Audit Committee of the CAR representing employees.
Stéphane Valeri, Government Counsellor for Social Affairs and Health, said: "The steady increase in the lifetime of today leads to a deterioration of assets and liabilities to retirees and a structural imbalance our pension system, pension rights become superior to contributions received. "
Indeed, with a growth assumption of 2% of the workforce, the mode of current redistribution lead to a loss of reserves in 2029 according to several studies conducted on behalf of the CAR (2).
In their outlook, and considering that the main activity (difference in premiums collected / pensions) is negative for two years, changes are envisaged. But why? The positions of the Union of Monaco and the Employers' Federation diverge.
